Intelligence vs Aptitude

  • Intelligence: ability to gain knowledge
  • Aptitude: ability to apply same knowledge
    Without aptitude, individual = liability for org. However, if you have aptitude but not ethics, you are threat. Eg. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam vs Dr. AQ Khan

Ethics

  • prescriptive code of conduct for an actor in a situation wrt rightness or wrongness of an action
  • eg. X commits henious offence but declared terminally ill. For a doctor, acc. to medical ethics, right thing is to save patient irrespective of criminal bg

Integrity

  • When path of righteousness across time and space, it is integrity
  • reliability in ethical conduct + uncompromising adherence to ethical princples

    • eg. Dr. Satish Dhawan (ISRO chairman) took responsibility in 1975 when indian satellite launch vehicle faced failure
    • LBS during a rail accident in his tenure took the moral responsibility and offered resignation
  • Humble, down to earth
    • Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam known for approachable nature + down to earth
  • Honesty in all actions
